There are different possibilities for wireless internet access in the IMT buildings. These are:
Eduroam
Eduroam is a European roaming network for university students and employees (Eduroam in Wikipedia). Members can use their account at IMT.
user name: firstname.lastname@kit.edu
password: same as email
wkit
Internal KIT network, users may log in using their KIT-account.
vpn/web/belwue
Network for Roaming within Baden-Württemberg, account needed.
Wifi for guests
As of 9th Dec 2013 there will be no free guest account in the vpn/web/belwue. A new guest account for every guest that needs Wifi access has to be created.
How to do it:
- Inform Mr. Klein in time via email with the following information:
- Number of guests (when in doubt, put maximum number)
- Duration of stay
- Name of event (for project meetings etc.)
- Mr. Klein will create the accounts and send you an Excel table with the login information for every account
- In this list, you have to assign the following to every entry:
- First name
- Last name
- Email address
You are not permitted to give out login information without user identification!
The accounts are valid for a maximum of two months.
Long term guest accounts have to be applied for using the scc form.
