Network drives at IMT
J - drive

Also accesible from outside IMT via VPN.
- Archive filing (Archivablage)
- Save documents made using the IMT template menu (Reports, protocols etc.)
- Administrators regularly transfer documents placed here to the archive
- Archive (Dokumentenarchiv)
- ARCHIV: freely available reports, notes and programmes from IMT, sorted according to year and subject
- ARCHIV2: classified reports, only visible to institute heads
- ISO-System
- CAD-drawings (GDS)
- Public-folder
- Telephone lists
- Projects
- SEM pictures (REM)
K - drive
Adress: \\IMTdruck2\PUBLIC
Only accessible from IMT, not via VPN.
- Transfer.Neu
- Transfer drive to share large files within the institute. NO place for file storage!
- <200 MB per person
- Every employee (students included) can create a folder with his/her last name
- Every employee has full access to all the data, including writing/deleting!
- Data older than 1 month can be deleted without notice in case of storage room shortage
- IMT software collection
P - drive
Adress: \\sccfs-home.scc.kit.edu\home
Accessible from outside IMT via VPN.
- Personal drive for every employee, not accessible for others (not even for institute admin)
- Maximum capacity 10 GB
U - drive
Adress: \\sccfs-oe-cn.scc.kit.edu\imt\home\NAME
Accessible from outside IMT via VPN.
- Personal drive for every employee, not accessible for others except for institute admin
- Maximum capacity 10 GB
- Only for important data you are currently working on as backup, not to be used as archive
- Backed up every night by scc
- Two versions of every file are kept
- Second version is deleted after 60 days (same goes for deleted data)
- Files to be archived should go on local external drive
