Tobias Schröter studied mechanical engineering at the TU Ilmenau and received his master’s degree in 2010. In his thesis he developed a Light Sheet Fluorescence Microscope to investigate the three dimensional structure of organs like the cochlea or the brain.

After he was working as a developer at Carl Zeiss Microscopy in Jena for three years, he decided to start a Ph.D. thesis at the IMT. Now he aims to bring the grating based X-ray Phase-Contrast Imaging to clinical applications like mammography, or lung disease diagnostic.
Deputy from 20.03.2015 - 14.01.2016<br>
Doggiespeaker from 19.01.2016 - 14.07.2016

Andrea Fischer studied Bioengineering at KIT and graduated in January 2014. In her diploma thesis she worked on a microfluidic system for an automated incubation of high density peptide arrays in the group of PD Dr. Alexander Nesterov-Müller at IMT. Currently she investigates methods for affinity measurements with peptide arrays as a PhD student.

Besides his work he spends time on mountain biking and other outdoor activities.
