Notebooks/English

At the moment there are 2 public notebooks in IMT which can be borrowed. These notebooks are managed by the secretariat of the institute. Please do not simply hand the notebooks over to a colleague, but always bring them back to the secretary's office beforehand (or at least arrange the transfer with the secretary)! The person responsible for the notebook is always the person registered with the secretariat as the borrower!

The internal notebook (IMTinternal-NB) is exclusively reserved for use in IMT, so it should not leave IMT so that a notebook is always available for emergencies.

For all other cases the travel notebook IMTreise-NB must be used.

To be able to use the notebooks, you must log in in IMT with your normal account at least once as long as the notebook is connected via cable to a LAN socket in one of the meeting rooms. The notebooks will not work if connected to the LAN sockets in the office. You must wait until the registration process is complete. If you then shut down the notebook, you can log in with your normal KIT account in the future even if the notebook is not connected to the network. Nevertheless, please always try out in IMT with the network cable disconnected before taking the notebook with you, as the notebook only remembers a certain number of logon credentials. If you find out outside IMT that you can't log in, you have a problem, because there is no way to solve this problem by phone! You can exchange files with your PC via the J or U drive.

On notebooks, please create files exclusively in the My Documents folder. In this folder, please delete the files that you no longer need so that the hard disk is not rubbed up!

In all notebook cases you will find a power supply, a network cable and a mouse. The network cable is relatively sensitive, therefore always roll up the cable and do not crumple or bend it. When using the network cable, also make sure that the plugs have a small catch as a lock. If this is not observed, the lock will be torn off! The cable should therefore always be plugged into the side pocket with the plugs pointing upwards, otherwise these small levers will easily get caught and tear off when pulled out!

Please do not try to install programs yourself!
