Print a poster for a conference

You have the possibility to present a poster at the next conference? Awesome!

What you have to do now:

1. Use the Powerpoint template [Powerpoint - Datei - neu - meine Vorlagen - KIT-Formulare - KIT-Poster_A0_hoch_en_IMT]
2. Create an award-winning poster
3. Create a PDF-file [e.g. "save as PDF", however the SCC advises to use a PDF-printer]
4. Make sure that your PDF-file shows exactly what your poster looked like in Powerpoint. Sometimes errors occure while saving as PDF.
5. Print the poster. At the SCC you can print on standard paper (=Normalpapier) or photograpfic paper (= Fotopapier).
   1. Open https://scc-print.scc.kit.edu/cgi-bin/print/index.cgi?printer=lfp-cn-foto
   2. Log-in with your KIT staff account
   3. Choose a printer [Campus Nord - Großformat Normalpapier Farbplotter or Campus Nord - Großformat Fotopapier Farbplotter]
   4. Upload your PDF-file
   5. Click on "drucken"
   6. If you have done that, you can check the status of your print under "Druckaufträge Info --> Campus Nord - Großformat Fotopapier Farbplotter --> Status / Warteschlange CN - Großformat Fotopapier Farbplotter".
   7. When the "Job-Status" is "fertig", go and get your poster at the SCC (Building 441 - https://www.kit.edu/downloads/Campus-Nord.pdf). The posters can be selected on the corridor directly in front of the Service Desk. You can also easily cut your poster directly at SCC.

IMT-intern

You have done something great and want to put up a poster permanently in the IMT? For this purpose posters on FOREX are used! This is the same stuff the boards in the Hall of Fame of the IMT PhDs are made of.

This is to be done:

1. Take a CURRENT poster template [Powerpoint - new - my templates - second card - Din-A-0 English or German]
2. Create a PDF in DIN-A-0 format [e.g. Print - Printer pdf-creater - Properties - Advanced - Format - DIN-A-0]
3. Fill in the file:Repro order.pdf and have it signed by the secretary
4. Go to Repro
   1. In this case they are in 141, so Repro is 142, but the people who print the DIN-A-0 are down in 141 (e.g. Eva Geiger)
   2. For the Hall-of-Fame boards go to Repro 142
5. You want a DIN-A-0 (841mm x 1189mm) poster on FOREX 10mm. You have to decide whether shiny or matt.
6. Pick up the poster, make someone else's disappear and hang up your own ;)
