As a Humboldt Research Fellowship of Experienced Researcher, my current research focuses on photovoltaics, mainly silicon solar cells, covering a wide range from first-generation crystalline silicon cells to third-generation ultrahigh-efficiency solar cells. Seeking better tradeoff between the efficiency and the cost for solar cells is a main motivation to us because we believe it plays a critical role in photovoltaic market. Ultrathin silicon solar cells and solar cells with ultrathin absorber offer the potential to meet the requirements for future photovoltaic development trend.
