New guideline concerning safety instruction of employees from outside companies

If employees from outside companies are hired to perform tasks at the IMT / KIT North, their client has to:

  • make sure that their workplace is properly prepared and maintained so that they can perform their task safely
  • brief them about their workplace (building including facilities, devices and escape routes) and familiarize them with peculiarities and possible dangers that may be relevant to their task.
  • ask them to fill out a form in which they agree to uphold the rules for the prevention of accidents, work security and occupational health.

Record for the briefing of employees from outside companies

The KIT law department, together with the TID and the KSM-TBG has designed a "Protokoll über die Einweisung von Fremdfirmenpersonal" (Record for the briefing of employees from outside companies) which you can find here

Alternatively, you can inform Mr. Dinglreiter of the company name, the name of their employee, the building in which he will work and the date when he will arrive, and Mr. Dinglreiter will fill out the record for you.

If you brief the outside employee yourself, it is important that you keep the record. In the case of an accident whith physical injuries you will be required to testify about the formalities of the outside employees instruction.
