Best Oral Presentation at EMRS meeting.

06.10.2017 - Doctoral student Tobias Abzieher from the Light Technology Institute received an award for the best student oral presentation in the Fall Meeting of the European Materials Research Society (EMRS) in Warsaw. The award was given for his presentation “Evaporation in the Cloud: Vacuum-Based Fabrication of Perovskite Thin-Films for Large-Scale Solar Cell Applications” in the Symposia G about perovskite solar cells.

In his work, Tobias Abzieher describes the influences of process parameters of the thermal evaporation process on the performance of perovskite solar cell devices and the optimizations needed to achieve stabilized efficiencies above 15 %. The results clearly demonstrate the potential of the thermal evaporation in terms of reproducibility, homogeneity as well as scalability of this technique, which are the key characteristics towards a future industrial large-scale production of perovskite materials. This research is part of the “Perovskite PV Taskforce” at KIT which is a joint research effort of the Institute of Microstructure Technology and the Light Technology Institute.
